Last years saw a series of publications published in different medical editions, concerning an application sphere of physiotherapy. These publications cast doubt on reflexotherapy as an independent medical discipline. New term physiopuncture was proposed in such publications, actually it is a try terminologically and in practice to substitute acupuncture and its methods (i.e. reflexotherapy) by an other medical specialty physiotherapy.
A review of biochemical mechanisms underlying the known approaches to extension of lifespan and/or slowing down of ageing suggests that they all modify balances between generation of active oxygen and carbonyl species and the mechanisms that protect from their damaging effects or repair their consequences. A likely common target of the geroprotector effects of antioxidants, melatonin, and antidiabetic biguanides is the mitochondrial respiratory chain.
There is a considerable variation in individual lifespan among cancer patients with identical diagnosis. We used damped exponential approximation, which includes both single- and double-compartment extension, for radiobiological assessment of survival curves among cases of breast, lung and oro-pharyngeal cancer. It was shown that in certain cases (breast--T2N1-2M0T3N1-2M0 and oro-pharyngeal cancer--T2-4N1-3M0) the curves can be identified with the two compartments which in turn are associated with different rates of mortality.

Telomeres are the ends of chromosomes and are non-coding DNA "end-capped" with structures containing DNA-quadruplexes and proteins. Telomeres become shorter after each cell division, which is one of the mechanisms of gradual ageing. Telomerase is the reverse transcriptase responsible for the extension of telomere length. It is well known that activation of telomerase in the most types of organism's cells is not enough for telomere length stabilization. The reason may be in the telomere "caps", which cover telomere ends from telomerase action.
Aging of organism is a complex process, however it is succeeded to mark out of new evolution-conservative genetic component of longevity and aging. Among the most perspective problems, connecting with this component, there are search of longevity genes in model animals, investigations of mechanisms of environment influence on aging speed (meal quality, light and temperature regimes, irradiation and hypergravity), revealing of aging biomarkers and genes, determined exceptional centenarians in human, and non-genetics methods of aging correction.
We studied the basic indicators of immune status of healthy persons of different age groups living in the monsoon climate in the southern Far East. The analysis shows age-dependent development of immunodepressive status, combined with increasing levels of CD16, CD25 and HLA-DR in the aging organism. Climatic and anthropogenic factors effect profoundly damaging on the body, which results in the severity of disorders of the immune system in old, old age and longevity.
Interdisciplinary study of telomere length, polymorphism of genes of renin-angiotensin (ACE) and serotonin (5HTR2A and 5HTTPR) systems in population of aged and old inhabitants of the North-West of Russia was conducted, in their relations to data from clinical and geriatric anamnesis, and psychological functioning. Regular link between telomere length and respondent's age was demonstrated in subgroups of old respondents and long-livers, by method of factor analysis.
Kinase TOR (target of rapamycin), discovered as a target of antibiotic rapamycin, the evolutionarily conservative serine/threonine kinase that integrates numerous extra-cellular and intracellular signals, regulating cell growth, protein synthesis and metabolism. Mammalian kinase (mTOR) exists in two complexes: the rapamycin-sensitive TORC1 and rapamycin resistant mTORC2, controlling in the cell different programs.
This work was undertaken to study tissue oxygen exchange and oxidative processes in the long-lived individuals who were assumed as the physiologically aging individuals. Oxygen tension was assessed in forearm subcutaneous cellular tissue by means of the polarographic method while performing 10 min oxygen inhalation tests (with spontaneous oxygemogram recording) and a 10 min clamping of vessels. The obtained data served as the tissue oxygen exchange indicator. This approach made us possible to evaluate the oxygen delivery and oxygen uptake.

Experimental data obtained from studies on the objects with different organization were analyzed. These data expand the ideas about the phenomenon of "viability determinate decrease in offspring of irradiated cells" discovered in the 1970s. This phenomenon was evaluated according to the standpoint of modern radiobiology.
