Diethyl maleate (DEM, 600 mg kg-1 i.p.) significantly potentiated hexobarbitone hypnosis and lowered plasma hexobarbitone level on awakening. Sleeping time following intracerebroventricular (i.c.v.) injection of phenobarbitone was also prolonged by DEM treatment. When administered to DEM-treated rats, L-tryptophan (50 mg kg-1 i.p.) significantly potentiated hexobarbitone hypnosis, although alone it had no effect in control rats.
A substantial body of research exists to support the idea that cells of the immune system produce growth hormone (GH). However, the structure and mechanism of action of lymphocyte-derived GH continues to remain largely unknown. Here we present the results of Western analysis of whole cell extracts showing that different molecular weight isoforms of GH of approximately 100, 65, and 48 kDa can be detected in primary mouse cells of the immune system and in the mouse EL4 cell line. The identity of the 65 and 48 kDa isoforms of GH were confirmed by mass spectrometry.
OBJECTIVE: The objective of this eight week, single-center, two-cell, double-blind, and randomized clinical study was to evaluate the dentin hypersensitivity reduction efficacy of a mouthwash using Pro-Argin™ Mouthwash Technology containing 0.8% arginine, PVM/MA copolymer, pyrophosphates, and 0.05% sodium fluoride in an alcohol-free base ("Arginine Mouthwash") compared to an ordinary mouthwash without any active ingredients ("Negative Control").
OBJECTIVE: Evaluate the efficacy of three regimens integrating toothpaste, toothbrush and mouthwash in reducing dentine hypersensitivity. METHODS: Eight-week single-centre, three-cell, double-blind, randomized study was conducted in the Dominican Republic.
