Highly cross-linked formulations of ultrahigh-molecular-weight polyethylene (XLPE) offer exceptional wear resistance for total joint arthroplasty but are offset with a reduction in postyield and fatigue fracture properties in comparison to conventional ultrahigh-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE). Oxidation resistance is also an important property for the longevity of total joint replacements (TJRs) as formulations of UHMWPE or XLPE utilizing radiation methods are susceptible to free radical generation and subsequent embrittlement.

High-speed capillary electrophoresis (CE) enables the simple, rapid, and inexpensive analysis of large sets of chiral samples in the pharmaceutical industry. Hence, we developed a novel method for separating enantiomers of d,L-phenothiazines simply and rapidly, based on using poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride) (PDDAC) as an additive and hydroxypropyl-?-cyclodextrin (Hp-?-CD) as a chiral selector in capillary electrophoresis. Adding 0.9% PDDAC to the background electrolyte generated a stable, high, and reversed electroosmotic flow (EOF).

OBJECTIVE: The objective of this eight week, single-center, two-cell, double-blind, and randomized clinical study was to evaluate the dentin hypersensitivity reduction efficacy of a mouthwash using Pro-Argin™ Mouthwash Technology containing 0.8% arginine, PVM/MA copolymer, pyrophosphates, and 0.05% sodium fluoride in an alcohol-free base ("Arginine Mouthwash") compared to an ordinary mouthwash without any active ingredients ("Negative Control").
